Consumer Mortgage Loan Processor
Job Summary: This position manages in-house and secondary market loan document flow, from early disclosures to closing and funding, to post closing file management. The right person will be comfortable working in a small bank environment where we sometimes wear many hats. They will bring a positive attitude that builds team performance both in the loan department and bank organization.
Job Duties:
- Create all types of residential loan documents accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all lending laws and regulations, as well as Bank policies and procedures
- Order appraisals, title work, credit reports, flood certifications, and other documents as needed
- Help with assisting customers with information related to their loans
- Monitor customer compliance with insurance requirements
- Monitor customer property tax payments
- Assist lenders and customers in clearing up title issues
- Provide back-up document support for other types of loans, such as consumer and light commercial
- Participate in mandatory and optional training opportunities
- Recommend opportunities to improve/streamline existing loan processes
- Help update lending pipeline reports
- Assist with early collection of past due credits and report collection activity to Bank management
- Participate in Bank functions as a team member
- Participate in networking events and organizations in the communities we serve as an ambassador of the bank, with an eye towards business development
- Perform other assigned duties as required
- NMLS certification (or ability to become certified)
- Four years of experience processing residential loans
- Critical/creative thinking skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technically skilled in loan document software (experience with Wolters Klewer Compliance One Lending and Doc Magic is preferred)
- Technically skilled in bank core software (ASI-Insite bank software experience is preferred)
